about us

We are one of the few companies in New Zealand that doesn’t just sell these aircraft, we are out there in the paddock using them every day. Our business was born from over 14 years of dedicated aerial spraying experience, where we successfully transitioned from operating helicopters to adopting the latest in XAG drone technology.

We know the realities of the job better than anyone, and we have backed the XAG range because it is built from the nozzle up for commercial agricultural work. These machines are engineered to handle the hard, repetitive yards required in our industry, which means you can stay focused on the productivity and health of your farm. We don’t just supply the equipment; we provide the operational knowledge and the backup support to ensure your technology performs at its best, day in and day out.

Bayden

Bayden was raised on a dairy farm in the land of milk and honey – Southland. He operated helicopters on the South Islands West Coast for many years in between stints on the farm. This farm life gives him a great understanding of the farming environment and helps him understand what farmers want.

When covid struck things changed and after talking with Scotty and doing a lot of research it was decided Airborne Solutions needed to happen.

Scotty

Scotty started spraying from helicopters 14 years ago and with a few breaks along the way has been doing it ever since. He was born and bred on a farm in Patoka in Hawkes Bay and so has a good understanding of the land and how farmers operate and what they expect.

After trying various channels to get his hands on an XAG drone – together with Bayden Airborne Solutions was born. Now Airborne Solutions imports aircraft direct from China with the backup support of XAG Australia.

Jamie

Jamie was born in Lower Hutt and grew up in Hawke’s Bay. He’s always been into aviation, getting his pilot’s licence straight out of school before spending three years in the topdressing industry as a loader driver. From there, moving into ag drones and just loving it everyday.

He’s been with Airborne Solutions for over two and a half years and was the company’s first full-time employee. These days, he spends his time out in the field operating drones, helping customers, working on sales, and heading away to events around the country. One of the best parts of the job, for Jamie, is that no two days are ever the same.

max

Born in the coastal town of Tangimoana and raised in friendly Fielding, Max is Airborne Solutions’ resident drone nerd. At just 20 years old, he can tell you just about anything technical about the drones – and more than likely a fair bit about any Toyota Hilux as well.

Most days, Max is either working on drones, out spraying, or helping support customers. He’s a real down-to-earth sort of guy who gets on with everyone, and he brings plenty of practical knowledge to the team.

Mark "Wally"

Wally is easily our most experienced team member. Around Airborne Solutions, he wears more hats than most. He’s head of maintenance, quality manager for the FieldBoss range, unofficial head of cleanliness, and although he’s not quite in charge of HR yet, he’s definitely working on it.

Wally brings a seriously impressive amount of experience to the team, with a career that’s taken him from the early days of deer recovery through to decades working alongside helicopters. He’s methodical, practical, and likes things done properly. Whether he’s checking over a drone or making sure a FieldBoss setup is ready to head out the door, Wally makes sure everything is sorted and up to scratch before it gets anywhere near a customer.

Lance

What hasn’t Lance done? He grew up in Hawke’s Bay on his family’s farm out towards Kererū before heading over to Australia, where he picked up a wide range of skills and experience along the way. His background includes diving, instructing, pearl diving, safety diver, aviation rescue firefighting, helicopter loading, helicopter pilot, sheep & beef farming, and now spray drone operating.

Lance brings a huge amount of practical experience to the Airborne Solutions team and is the sort of guy who can turn his hand to just about anything. These days he’s out operating drones and getting stuck in wherever needed. Outside of work, he’s kept busy with his wife and three young kids, who are still getting used to the New Zealand climate being a fair bit colder than what they were used to in Australia.

I recently purchased a spray drone from Airborne Solutions, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. What sets Airborne Solutions apart is their outstanding customer support & knowledge. Throughout the entire process, they were there to answer any questions i had and offer guidance. I highly recommend Airborne Solutions to anyone in need of an Agricultural spray drone or drone spraying & spreading services.
Has been great working with Scott and Bayden. They have supplied a quality product and high quality advice and experience to go with it. Would highly recommend.
Highly recommend Airborne solutions, it's a top team with perfect service, not just a "drone selling company" but also with perfect after sales support. When you need Scotty or Bayden for help they will make sure the problem get's solved asap.
Has been great to have Scotty provide his drone services, with great comms and flexibility. Would highly recommend Scotty and the Airborne Solutions team to anyone looking at drones as an avenue for fert and/or pesticide applications.
